  1. I still have my D8443 that I purchased in July of 1984 – still kicking hard of all of these 25 years. I take it as my external amplifier to accompany my game console systems to friend and family’s house to really fill up the room with great sound that this unit still provides..

  2. Does any one know how to get the line in on these to work? The radio on mine works great, but there’s no way to turn off the radio and select the RCA input.

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

    1. open the cassette window, reach down and push the piece the would hit the notch found on the top part of a cassette. Push this down while simultatiously pushing the play/record button. I did this with my VCR and such before sound bars came around. Everyone thought it was the Shit back then! Good Luck!

  3. Have the stereo turned off, and you have to press the play+record at the same time, so you have to have a tape in there, to get the line in to work.

  4. I agree miles have had since then too love it gotta work to get the cassette to work i think it needs a belt.
U can also hold the tape piece that tells u a tape is in.
I have done it before without a tape in it.

  5. Does anyone have a User Manual for the Magnavox D8443 Power Player that they could share with me…or tell me how to obtain one. THANK YOU!!!
